Well what a fantastic start we have had to the inaugural Recruitment Yarns Business Series for 2016!
Over the past two weeks I have been participating as a host of Recruitment Yarns. So far we have hit Perth, Adelaide and Brisbane and we have had an enormously positive response, receiving great support from the local recruitment industries in each State and receiving a lot of positive feedback from those who attended.
When I was first approached to become involved in Recruitment Yarns I was immediately drawn to the concept – business owners getting together in a casual informal setting to have a yarn, share their stories of success and failures and what they have learned along the way. This is not your average “death by PowerPoint” conference. This is an opportunity for business owners to “speed date” an industry specialist and get the answers to some of those niggling questions they have had at the back of their minds but have never had the time to address properly.
I really enjoy helping business owners succeed – it is at the heart of what we do at The Accounting Department. The fact that Recruitment Yarns is a free event means that it is accessible to all business owners (be they from large national companies or small boutique agencies). Recruitment Yarns is a safe place for business owners to spend time working ON their business rather than IN it, and to set aside time to address some of the real problem areas of their business and receive genuine advice from a range of industry specialists.
The holistic approach of Recruitment Yarns means that attendees have access to a range of industry specialists in the areas of IT systems (RecTech Solutions), funding (APositive Cashflow), employee compliance (WorkPro), mergers and acquisitions (HHMC Global), benchmarking (RIBReport), superannuation (Kinetic Super), insurance (Arthur J. Gallagher), job boards (Gumtree) and of course, day to day cashflow management, accounting and payroll (The Accounting Department).
I am really looking forward to the next leg of the tour which will see me having a yarn with business owners in Parramatta, Canberra and Newcastle, closely followed by the remaining six locations.
